Solar, battery and microgrid systems — from a single off-grid home to infrastructure-scale resilience.
SolarQuip designs solar, battery and microgrid systems across the full range — from a single off-grid home to infrastructure-scale resilience. Every design is grounded in the AS/NZS standards Glen helped write and in more than 35 years of building systems that have to work in the real world.
What we design
- Residential on-grid and off-grid solar + battery systems
- Off-grid and island microgrids
- Commercial & industrial (C&I) solar and storage
- Community, infrastructure and large / resort-scale resilience systems
Selected projects
Infrastructure resilience Upper Yarra Dam restoration
Designed two container-sized battery/inverter storage systems to keep a state water authority's services running while the main supply was interrupted for the dam-wall rebuild.
Community microgrid fail-over Trentham, Victoria
Engaged by a community energy foundation as microgrid specialist to design a fail-over system that keeps the town powered if its high-voltage connection is lost during a storm.
Marine off-grid · 600-passenger ferry Samoa
Designed a top-deck solar pergola and a battery/inverter system that displaces the vessel's diesel generator, giving it quiet, fuel-free running periods.
Off-grid island microgrid · SolarQuip's living lab Mount Toolebewong
A working microgrid powering seven homes, ten EV charging stations and a twenty-bed community building, alongside teaching and testing facilities.
Why SolarQuip
Glen Morris founded SolarPlus, Australia's solar design software, so the modelling behind each design is rigorous. He has served more than a decade on the national renewable-energy and battery standards committees, and has lived off-grid for 36 years — so SolarQuip's methods are proven in its own microgrid before they reach a client.
